If you are getting the message about mailboxes, then you probably have mail
enabled accounts that were never used but are pointing at those non-existent
servers. You need to find those accounts and remove their Exchange attributes.

At the end of my migration article
(http://www.amset.info/exchange/migration.asp) I have the technique I usually
use for finding these accounts.

Simon.

Subject: The servers that wouldn't die

We have 3 Exchange servers that continue to appear in Exchange System
Manager that no longer exist on our network. We've removed them some
months ago: 1 was due to hardware failure, the other 2 were removed
by uninstalling Exchange and then removing them from the domain.

Despite this, they appear in the list on ESM. I've tried to
delete/remove server from ESM, but get the error message:

"One or more users currently use a mailbox store on this
server. These users must be moved to a mailbox store on a different
server or be mail disabled before uninstalling this server"

Unfortunately it doesn't tell me what users are on this non-existent server.

Anyone have any ideas?

We're running Exchange 2003

Thanks.
