You're probably going to want to replicate it somewhere "far" away, then (far depends on where your site is and what the probable disaster events are).
There's HA, which to me means build a cluster to fail back and forth every month for patches, maintenance, etc - keeping your downtime to <10 minutes monthly (unless you build the cluster wrong). Then there's replication - which in our case would let you, within a few minutes, rehome the AD users' homeMDB attribute to a server somewhere else that was in a 'warm' state via XOSoft or something like it, and stays in sync within xx minutes (depending on the rate of change for the store, network speed, etc). But that's something you want to literally hit "the big red button" to do - not on a whim, because you have to reverse the replication process to move back to your primary site... Then there's SCR, where everything is native and magically works ;) --James -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Larry Wahlers Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2008 12:58 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: High availability solutions Thank you, James, for your reply. I believe what they are after is, if our Exchange server quits working for any reason, can they get access to their email within, say, a half hour, even if the reason it went down is the building burned to the ground?
