Stephen,
You and Don have been EXTREMELY helpful to me today. Thank you so very much
for taking the time to help me. I'm going to schedule a down time for later
this week. I found all the old conversations on upgrading to SP4 and have
printed all the information from them.

I knew this list would come in handy one day, go figure!

Sorry... Dir Rep problems is never what I want to hear. :)

CHKDSRO is a read-only version of CHKDS. It will tell you what is wrong
with the dire.edb so that you can make an educated decision concerning what
switches to use on CHKDS. I prefer to know what I am fixing before I fix it
under most circumstances.

Yes, you will probably need to run chkds -fixorphaned
but you will also probably need to run chkds -fixallpackedpages

The directory will need to be stopped to perform this utility.
You might need to CHKDSRO the other server too... just be prepared....

eeeww?
That's not really what I wanted to hear. Presently there is no
scheduled
down time for this server. The feeling I'm getting is that I'm going to
need to schedule one. What does CHKDSRO look at?

I turned up the logging on another server and from that server I'm
getting
this in the Event log:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeDS
Event Category: Replication
Event ID: 1083

Computer: EXCH-SRV1
Description:

synchronize naming context /o=WHF/ou=Hospital with naming context on

This leads me to
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q180/7/95.ASP
I'm going to look over this KB in depth and see if it helps.

Jessica
