Have you tried copying the profile to the default user and then logging on
as a "new user" This will prove whether it is profile related. I had a
similar situation 18 months ago on a NT4 Terminal server where the Veritas
Backup Exec showed lousy performance as regards emailing the backup results.

I deleted the profile and logged on again, re-creating the exchange client
profile, and all was well.
A long shot maybe but hope it helps
