It's because there is no separate Exchange directory in E2K like there is in 5.5.

Could it be cause I'm using the SBS edition of E2K? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Weathersby, Bryce Sent: Thursday, August 08, 2002 2:11 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Backing up Exchange 5.5 In my BE Log I have an entry for \\Server\Microsoft Exchange Directory and another entry group for \\Server\Microsoft Exchange Information Store. The description for each is obvious. Directory is the Exchange Directory, where all of that information is stored, and the other is the Information store where all the mail, contacts, etc reside. Clear enough? What's it do? Instead, you *should* be checking the "Microsoft Exchange Directory" and "Microsoft Exchange Information Store" boxes. Checking those boxes will tell Backup Exec to back up the directory and the information store, respectively. If you do NOT see any of those boxes, then you do NOT have the Exchange agent installed. What gives you the impression I don't know what Circular Logging is? Just because I have it turned on. I would turn it off if we could figure out how to back up the edb files and could flush the log files.
