Brian: If I understand it correctly The answer is that it depends. If you are salaried or hourly.
Hourly anything over 40hrs you should be compensated. Salary not always the case. This is usually up to your employer. since if you work 30hrs you still get your same salary and if you work 45 hours the salary is still the same.
