Of course these settings have a meaning. We're basically saying that if
a message is destined for (or originates from) the mail-enabled user,
then check the message sizes as per the limits. Don't get confused with
mailbox storage limits, as a mail-enabled user doesn't have a mailbox.

Ok..., so how do the settings for Incoming mail size, and the options
for Message restrictions work. If the users mail account was in a
different system, surely these option would have no meaning. Also, in
that case why not just use the option for email address in the general
tab?

Or is it that this should function as a forwarding method, mail is
delivered to address on the E-Mail Addresses tab and then forwarded on
to the address on the Exchange General tab.

Confused and its only Tuesday.....

Stephen.

Isn't this the difference between an Exchange Mailbox and a Mail-enabled
account? For example, if you were using AD for all staff, but a mix of
50% Exchange and 50% Domino, you'd use the second option for the Domino
users. This way the Exchange users would see the Domino users in the GC.

Subject: Exchange Tasks in AD

When I add a new user to the active directory, under Exchange Tasks I
get two options.

Create Mailbox
Establish e-mail address

If I select Create mailbox it creates a mil box on the server and all is
well.

If, on the other hand, I select Establish e-mail address, it ask me to
chose and address and then does something, which results in a different
Exchange General tab in the AD, and the email Address tab is empty. What
does this option do/create??

Just curious as I always use the create mailbox option.

Thanks

Stephen.
