They
block virus and/or attachments at the IMS level before they hit any
mailbox/machine/server. They also can be set up to send the offending
party a email message stating that they are sending out a virus. This last
feature will cut down the number of virus you get significantly. Many
organizations upgraded their AV after the sales/marketing/CEO type get a message
back stating that they are spreading "X" virus
