Did you enable blocking or scanning? Are you in version 4.5?

Are you the Exchange Admin - did you install or configure Groupshield?

1) No.

2) I'm not exactly sure which setting you are referring to. On the On Access
(MailBoxes) tab there is no Attachment Blocking option.

Can't be any more current than that! couple of thoughts:

1> Do you have any Support contract with NAI?

2> Have you set the Attachment blocking on the On Access tab of the
Groupshield Connector in Exchange?

Current version: 4.1.50 engine and 4163 DAT.

I had the problem with the 4.1.40 engine and the one before too.

The problem has grown over time. At first it was 1 mail (with attach) out of
10 who suffered this problem, now it's about 19 out of 20. So the problem
got worse by installing new dat's and engines allthough I can't confirm if
this is the priamry cause.

That's a weird one, Our Groupshield doesn't let the mails through to the
mailbox until they have been scanned. When you say the previous two engines,
do you mean engines or Dat updates as you also say you are using 4.0.3 which
is a very old engine!! What does the Version Tab on the Groupshield Exchange
connector say?

When receiving a mail with an attachment, clients are unable to open the
mail. After doubleclick in Outlook 2000, a custom NAI form opens, stating:
"The e-mail is currently being scanned by Network Associates GroupShield for
Microsoft Exchange. Please try later once the scanning has finished."
Sometimes there's an "Unlock"-button on the form.

When you try later you receive the same error. Even waiting a day doesn't
help.

The problem is unrelated to the Exchange SP, since I had it with SP3 too. It
is also unrelated to the scan engine since I had it this problem with the
two previous engines too.

This is very annoying since every day our helpdesk receives phonecalls about
it.

Does anyone have a solution or seen this before?

Exchange 5.5 SP4, GroupShield 4.0.3
