while the MakeDL app you have seems to offered for free, (right?), I have a
contact who would probably pay for it, if it is robust enough for a
production environment (but not willing to pay enough for the one Stu
mentioned-sorry Stu!) Do you provide support for this? I have not tested
it, or have any experience with it. Hope this doesnt offend anyone!

The difficulty comes with tying in the script to the creation of the
mailbox. Ignoring the possibility of creating an add-on in Exchange Admin,
either you have to redesign the mailbox creation process and use a
script/program to do it or you have to come up with a backend process that
assigns membership of a DL after the creation of the mailbox. I have tried
both and the latter gives the best results (and gives you other benefits as
well)

I'd have to muck around with a VB Script, but I would have to say that it
"is" possible provided you have some scripting skills. Almost any
administrative task can be performed with a script.

If I understand you correctly (and I'm not sure I do), you create a new
mailbox for said user, you enter all pertinent information regarding office
and such. There is a DL tab in the mailbox properties of said user, click
on that and choose the DL you want to add them to.
