Those 1 TB drive are SATA I'm sure so they may be overkill size wise, they
are not performance wise.

I would just throw them in a single RAID5 and make a 40GB Windows partition
and put everything else on the other partition.

Specs are made for servers that hold hundreds of users. For 30-45 users,
your 4 1TB drives are overkill anyway. Get a decent proc and 2-3GB of RAM
and you'll have no troubles at all.

You have four disks for a total of 1TB...I would buy one more, then have
logs and OS on a RAID 1, and data on a raid5...

As Martin mentioned in a previous post we would need to know how many disks
to answer any RAID questions.

Nobody will ever accuse me of being thorough, it's a small office (35 - 40
users) setup. Have the hardware. Curious if there were any recommendations
on partition size and RAID for OS and Exchange data. If that's not enough
info., then have at it. Thanks, I think.

P3 133 with 256 MB RAM is the minimum recommended spec isn't it? :)

I say he should get a server with a Pentium IV processor of 800 Mhz, and 2
GB of RAM, with at least 4GB of Hard Drive space.

That ought to have him up and running in no time.

Quick answer: 42

Seriously, this is anything but a quick question. Without knowing anything
about your environment we can't begin to help you.

We don't know if you have 10 or 10,000 users, 1 or 100 disks, 1 GB or 1 TB
of mail, are you running Exchange on a desktop PC or Cray?

Migrating to new server in PA office. Recommendations for RAID (i.e. 1, 10)
and partition size for a 03 Exchange?
