That's what I was looking for.  ;4)  So in theory the cluster IP address will 
have two or more MAC addresses dependeing on the the number of NICs used.  One 
or more used at a time???

  IP is at layer 3, you need a MAC so layer 2 devices (like switches) can pass 
the traffic.

   

  It looks like the cluster IP address is assigned as an additional IP on the 
configured NIC in the server.

    There is the Host IP, the Windows Cluster IP, the Messaging Cluster IP, and 
the Heartbeat IP (which must be on a different subnet other than the one where 
the rest of the IPs reside) as well as the Remote Management IP (Rilo/DRAC) 
which should also be on a separate subnet...
