Thanks for the info.

Don't know why I didn't think of that.

I just had to do this for BMC Service Desk Express. I controlled access
by IP address instead of by user. Go to the IMAP protocol tab in ESM
and then Access/Connection control and set it so that only the help desk
server can connect.

Since our Exchange 2003 is clustered, I also had to add the IP address
of both nodes and the virtual IP or the cluster resource would fail the
"IsAlive" check.

In exchange 2003, we've never used imap so the virtual server is
disabled, but the feature is enabled for all users as in, Enabled using
protocol defaults on each users' property sheet.

I'm setting up a helpdesk system which requires imap. I know I can
enable the virtual server but how can I disable imap for all users
except the helpdesk app?

Selecting multiple users, doesn't give an option to change that setting.

I'd rather not have to set it for each individual user and I'm sure I'd
miss disabling while creating new users.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Glen.
