I realize that cynicism is en vogue, but I would argue that Google's track record isn't atrocious.
When I say I trust them, I mean that they're a large, well-capitalized company with a pretty good reputation for innovation and technical stability. When we were looking for a company to route all of our e-mail through, we wanted to go with a company like that rather than a smaller organization.
