I had issues backing up our 2010 environment with Backup Exec 2010. It’s possible the same limitations are on Windows Server Backup.
The backup server had to be 2008, and if the Exchange 2010 box is 64bit, the backup server should also be 2008 64bit. (Symantec originally told me that 2003 64bit would be fine as a media/backup server, but that was not the case).
