No event log warnings on backpressure (checked that already).

I've got about 1.75G free on the system volume, 5G free on the DB and 9.5GB on 
the logs.

CPU and memory aren't stressed at all.

The server only has one mailbox one it, and a small PF store to support the 
application.

Assuming that you've done the typical configuration checks for the pickup 
directory (Get-TransportServer | fl *pickup*), and knowing you I'm sure you 
have, the only other thing I can think of is back pressure.

You should've gotten an event log warning or error if back pressure kicked 
in....disk / memory / processor. But pressure on any of those would cause 
pickup processing to stop add messages to the outgoing queues.

It's a webchat app called CyberAED from PrairieFyre (shudder).

NTFS permissions look right according to the technet article on Managing the 
Pickup Directory.  It is not shared.

Exchange 2007 hub/mailbox server.

It's the last one I have left, to support an application that won't run on 2010.

The application sends email by dropping them in the pickup folder.

Suddenly the server just stopped processing the folder.  The .eml files just 
sit there.  Other than that, the server seems to be working normally.
