Hi Nick,

Just as a side note to your comments. You were the one who a couple of months back were flogging 'Highly discounted immaculate cars/SUVS for sale', with a discounted price tag at 30%.

I say good on you Micah for trying to get as much money out of your stuff as you can. Well done! I would expect nothing less from anyone at this time of Crisis.

There are Expats who give all their belongings away when they move. There are Expats who give their apartments away without agency fee's. If you can, and have the luxury to do this. By all means. Well done.

But lets not clamp down on people who might need some of the money back from the goods that they bought, and trying to get as much back as possible.

With prices in Moscow being what they are, you can really find Russians selling old Ikea stuff for twice the price at some markets.....Why......Because..

I dont really need any stuff Micah...but please post if you sell something..and if you get twice as much for the stuff as you paid. I will be more than happy for you. That is truly the best offer you can get..

Vincent

Micah,

I moving sale USUALLY means heavily discounted goods.......not stuff that is available cheaper in the shop.

It's like some shops who put the price up by 100% and then advertise "50% disount on everything."

Nobody's suggesting you "hold their hands" through an OBO (or best offer) but a little less greed would probably have created a lot of "best offers".

I wish I hadn't replied now but I hate seeing fellow expats ripped off.....and I'm not talking about me as I have no interest in any of the goods.

Btw - if you only received one offer for one of your items and that was, for example, $10, would you accept that "best offer"????

Rgds,

Nick

Well apparently you did not read thoroughly, or maybe you dont understand the point of OBO. The point of selling things like this is, if people are interested, they tell you what they are willing to pay. People are not idiots, they know what a moving sale means. Or maybe I should expect to hold hands with people through an OBO offer.

Micah,

I don't know whether you think people are fools on here (and I know you've written "or best offer") but reducing your prices less than 20% for stuff about a year old when the stores themselves are now reducing by more is taking the piss a bit.

If this stuff is used and in good condition, usually people would expect to see around about a 50% discount.

If people go online, they'll get better deals for brand new items at the moment!

Nick

Entertainment System Summary:
1. AV Receiver: Yamaha
Ampli-Tuner Audio Video
Model: RX-V459
New, never been opened. (MSRP was $400)

This Yamaha RX-V459 is any Home Theater buff's dream!!
It has VERY clean bass and plenty of cranking power
The RX-V459 has everything you need without any over kill.
Even has a place to plug in your MP3 player and listen to it just like any other component you'd
The setup is very straight forward and well documented in the manual
IF what I have found on the web is correct I believe the RX-V459 is a late 2007 early 2008 model?
Bottom line:
If you want a super clean sounding unit without a ton of buttons...reasonable price with lots of features...top notch quality inside and out...this Yamaha is the way to go.
Trust me it won't take long for you to fall in love with it!
Strengths:
The usual super Yamaha quality build and sound.
Easy to navigate and setup.
Plenty of features without being overwhelming!!!
Place to plug in your MP3 player.
(Don't see this on the higher end units for some reason)
I like the -80db to +80db volume setup.
At -27db it's pretty loud and ya haven't even got to 0db yet!!

2. InfinityBeta HCS
Complete 6-piece Home theater and music loudspeaker system

Four magnetically shielded, 2-way satellites w/ CMMD drivers
2-way, magnetically shielded, voice-matched center speakers w/ CMMD drivers
MSRP: $1500
Also never taken out of the box, but bought as a display model so I'm willing to knock the price down to $1200 It's a really great system. Check out the following links if you're interested:
1. Product Specifications:

Both links have photos.

Again, these are in perfect condition, and haven't been used.
If you buy them together I'll throw in another bonus and sell both for $1500 out of convenience.

"Few are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change." - Robert F. Kennedy
