Dear Ron, AFAIR it was in the range of $1K for a kilo, but I was there early spring last time... Or was it winter? For Metro, you would need a company pass or somebody with a pass to get into, but I never saw black caviar there at Leningradskiy Metro (or possibly missed it as I was never interested in black caviar when at Metro...).

Thanks. Any idea how price there compare to the supermarkets? The price in Carrefour is around 2300r for 50g and 4400r for 100g. I heard that Metro might be cheaper but I did not have a chance to check it. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of ElectronintorgMarketing-SergeyOrlov Sent: Monday, June 29, 2009 10:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Expat List where to buy black caviar? Dear Ron, You may try Pyatnitsky market near Novokuznetskaya metro (on a small lane in the back of the metro on the first cross when you walk in the Kremlin direction) but beware that i) Caspian and Volga caviar is not legally produced so you have to buy cans with clear statement 'Don' ii) even that does not guarantee quality...
