usually near university dorms.

You might try punching in прачечная самообслуживания москва on Google
to find one near you (using the "Translate this page" links if you
don't read Russian).

Apart from the one near m. Leninsky Pr-t, there's a chain called
Chistoff with at least couple locations and apparently more opening
soon:

Preobrazhenskaya Pl.)
