Hi

If you receive a tourist visa "valid" for the city of Moscow the
registration must be completed in the city of Moscow 3 days after
your arrival. Usually the issuing company hotel or point of arrival
(abode) completes this for you.

However I believe that registration can be completed by you
personally( if you can speak and write Russia) or by a friend in a
local post office in Moscow. A a very small cost to you.

The implication for you not doing this registration is if you are
stopped by the police in the street they will take you to the cop
station, hold you for a few hours, fine you and let you go.

Thereafter when you attempt to exit Russia the officer at the border
will ask for the completed registration. If you don't have it they
will probably let you through, or there again they may hold you.
Moreover the issuing company will be heavily fined for non compliance.

If you over stay you visa they will hold you at the border and they
will fine you.

Visa policy has changed here and in the light of recent events in the
US with regard to the export of 10 individuals to Russia. I recommend
that you have registration completed by the company or go to a post
office here in Moscow and have it completed. Abide by the rules and
you will have no issues. You will also have peace of mind.

Regards

JB
