You're not the first to experience it. It is a glibc-based bug. Netscape
is linked against glibc 2.0.7 while Mandrake has the more recent 2.1.1.
The fix is to get the libc5 version. It almost never crashes. You can get
it at http://coruscant.netrevolution.com/pub/Netscape
