It does _not_ !!! The X server always runs on the machine where the
_display_
(and the keyboard and mouse ...) is. Now X _clients_ can run anywhere on
the
network (they could even be on the Windows machine, provided they speak
proper X protocol :-). This is quite basic with X.

Yes, you could do that, but in that case you are only _replicating_ the
display
on the station where the X server is. From the look of the original
post, this is
not what was asked for ...
