Hey Mike,

I have had goes at FreeBSD and it is still in the background. I tell you
it is not easy, you have to even compile your printer into the kernel.

Anyway go to the web site www.freebsd.org and join some mailing lists
near you, you'll find these guys very helpful and a lot use mandrake as
well with freeBSD.
