are there any documents about how MandrakeUpate works? I upgraded a few days ago to the -17 versions of glibc, but after changing mirrors to rpmfind.net, the screen showed that an upgrade to the -15 (backwards!) was required. I did not notice this until after I had answered OK, now, no matter what mirror I point to I get the fact that I need to update the -15 glibc to -15 glibc, which of course errors off. None of the mirrors seem to show the -17 versions via MandrakeUpdate. I will obtain the -17 versions and do a manual upgrade which may fix the problem. I have tried rpm --rebuilddb with no effect. At this time I am really suspect that MandrakeUpdate has the ability to keep a system up to date with the latest updates. This is not an isolated case as another machine regularly seems to have similar problems with various packages - tho this is the first time with this machine. Also a number of updates recently released do not show up which seems suspect as I would expect the main mirrors to take only a few days to catch up. BillK
