A correctly set up ATAPI CD writer will appear either as scd0 or as sr0, or both. I have had more success with sr0. Whichever works (try a mount with a data CD in) should be used in your /etc/fstab or to symbolic link (may need to be a hard link) to /dev/cdrom2 for use in your /etc/fstab, your choice. Which IDE channel is being used for SCSI emulation is given by the append statement in your /etc/lilo.conf, from which you can trace the ribbon cable and master/slave jumper setting out to find the actual device. Of course you can only read mounted CDs and only write unmounted CDs. -- Regards, Ron. [AU]
