I went through the same thought process myself but on tty2 i found the FAT partition was mounted on /tmp/hdimage and NOT on the actual first iso file within the download directory in which the iso were residing, so i was lost on how to umount the FAT partition and mount it again on the second iso file. If anyone has done it, then the actual commands would be a great help.
Thanx for the suggestion, Murtaza. > ---------- > From: bascule[SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Reply To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, October 22, 2001 2:30 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [expert] [novice] Mandrake 8.1 installation question > > <<File: message.footer.txt>> > since the install must mount the iso on some temp mount point - i assume - > > perhaps you go to alt-f2 and find where it is mounted, unmount the cd1 iso > > and mount the cd2 iso at the point where the installer is looking for > packages from it, and similarly for the third iso? > just a thought. i'm not doing an install so i can't do more than this > thought > experiment! > > bascule > > On Monday 22 October 2001 11:15 am, you wrote: > > Hi all, > > I am having a problem installing Mandrake 8.1 Linux using the iso > > distribution.
