I have 6 of those requiring the de4x5 driver and five of them don't work correctly in 8.1. There were about 80 field engineering mods on this chipset/card and the driver simply doesn't cover them all. So invest 9.95 to get a cheap implementation of an rtl8139 and you will work fine.
