I can think of a few options, none of them good. 1: Install VNC on both machines. 2: (if W2k Server) Install Terminal Services Remote Administration mode, Use a linux RDP client to connect to the W2K. I have seen a RDP client for Linux but can't remember where, a quick Google search should point you in the right direction. 3: (if W2K Server) Install the Telnet service on the W2k box. Execute the 'Shutdown' command via telnet. This requires the telnet service be configured to use Kerberos authentication and the Linux box be in the same kerboros domain. This would introduce many nasty security holes and I'm not sure it would work anyway. 4: Install a web server (IIS or Apache) and make CGI/ASP script to execute the 'shutdown' command.
