supermount -i disable

Then manually mount and unmount CD's as you need them.  urpmi will take
care of the unmounting if it needs to change disks.

LOL.  It comes down to one thing not working well:  supermount.  If you
were to use the 8.2 update kernel, you might find that your cd problems
go away or become lessened.  Give it a shot.
