Partly right Tom. But keep reading. I think you'll find that you "may" get software 3d out of the nv drivers, but not hardware. In fact, there is even a choice when you do the set up to use XFree 4.xx (with no acceleration), or XFree 3.xx with acceleration. As far as the open source issue... It's been beat to death.. get over it. Ric
