I don't seem to have any problem running KDE apps in remote X windows. Usually I ssh in rather than telnet. What kind of errors are you seeing? Can you post the output of something like a konqueror start-up sequence?

This is supposedly something that they're working on the last time I looked, but that was some time ago. > > It would be nice to be able to run certain apps on my laptop that it normally > cannot handle because of a weak video card and CPU (celery 360), using my > high-powered system (athlon 1100, Nvidia Ti4200) to do the heavy lifting - > and do it over my wlan. > Anyway, the issue here would be the local video card. Perhaps a refresher of how X works? I've posted some info here that might be helpful: http://www.monkeynoodle.org/comp/remote-x-cygwin-howto > Is this possible or does one require a fully capable video card on the > receiving end to run accelerated opengl apps? > > Finally, how would one go about x forwarding KDE apps? If the app relies on DCOP, I think you need the whole environment to be running. A KDE-user might be able to tell you some sort of short cut for just running certain components here and/or there, but my advice is to either use the above link to setup complete session forwarding or to not use KDE apps :-) > praedor > - -- > Conservatives of all times are adventitious liars. > - - Friedrich Nietzsche. > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) > > iD8DBQE+NZvI1i/6R1B/Yh0RAvJ/AJ9HgEIk2toNfn6YjEgeYA1YeOyb1gCcDtwT > 3MW6qa0hc3bPlyipf6y8L3I= > =ESoQ > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > > > ______________________________________________________________________ > > Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? > Go to http://www.mandrakestore.com -- Jack Coates Monkeynoodle: A Scientific Venture...
