The previous owner said they could never get it to meter
properly. If I knew what to replace I would do it.

Taking a guess, I would say that the metering is controlled by the jets.
From what I've seen, the ones in the intake bubble only a bit and they have
a very small jet. The one in the crankcase appears to put out quite a lot more, and it has a much larger jet. I would double check that with someone that is an old hand with snowmobile repair, ie someone over forty in the business.

JV, what are you doing with your Zink? Autocross or roadrace?

I autocross and this coming year I plan to get into solosprints on roadcourses. None of that wheel to wheel stuff for me. I'm too old and brittle.
