I vaguely recall this idea, but I can't remember from where. Could you
give a reference? Was it in relation to factor, specifically? (I tried
a google search on "factor banana notation" and didn't get anything
obvious - one of the downsides of the name "Factor" is how hard it is
to google for it effectively!)
