The quote posted by anon accurately describes the breathing technique
that I learned from Art of Living. No amount of esoteric, ooga-booga
vernacular can change the fact that all I experienced was
hyperventilation-induced light-headedness. They do teach some
advanced pranayam techniques that are practiced before the so-hum
hyperventilation, and I found those quite nice, but they involve slow
deep breathing, not fast hyperventilation.
