Democratic Reps. Robert Wexler (FL) has set up a Web site to collect signatures for a petition asking Rep. John Conyers, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, to begin hearings on Rep. Dennis Kucinich's resolution to impeach Vice President Cheney (HRes 333):
http://www.wexlerwantshearings.com Kucinich's resolution was referred to the Judiciary Committee six months ago, but no action has yet been taken on it. Last week Rep. Wexler wrote an op-ed with Tammy Baldwin (WI) and Luis Gutierrez (IL) calling for hearings on Cheney's impeachment and sent it to various major papers, none of which have been willing to publish it. It's available at the site above. The site has been up for only two days, and already more than 47,000 people have signed the petition, wildly exceeding Wexler's expectations.
