Of course, MY understanding is that MMY used Shankara's description 
of meditation as dying the cloth, combined with the traditional 
Patanjali discussion of mind fluctuations, all wrapped up in western 
terminology ala Hans Selye...

But hey, maybe he read Dianetics first.
