The actual sutra is:

te samaadaav-upasargaa vyutthaane siddhaya.h

These are obstacles to samadhi [but] attainments in emergence

BonGiovanni, the restauranteur, made fabulous chicken cacciatore but his
Sanskrit wasn't up to the same level. Give up restauranteurs and re-try
someone like Herr Firestone or T.S. Rukmini.

And Vaj you should know better. This Vedantic interpretation is
discredited. It doesn't represent Patanjali's view. You should go back
to your Tantrika-s and confess.
