Yeah, what if the achievable goals, in Obama's mind, aren't victory or defeat
of the Taliban or even a stable Afghan government? Still declare victory and
get out? Why bother over this next year? Why not just pack up and leave now? If
the Afghan people think we are just going to leave next year, regardless of out
come, why would they even think of committing to any achievable goal, short of
total destruction of the Taliban? If i were an Afghan, I sure wouldn't hitch my
wagon to a team that told me they weren't going to be around after next year. I
would keep my nose clean, face unshaven, try to appear as neutral as I could
and keep a Taliban flag stashed so when that big sucking sound of NATO leaving
is replaced with a new Taliban government, I could appear to be on the winning
side.

Set up achievable goals within the time frame designated by President Obama.
After the goals are met, declare a victory in Afghanistan and get out of there.
Any questions?
