'Own body form' AFAIR for invisibility, translated from my language back
into english. I also did several others not mentioned here, again this is
translating back, something like:earth-element gross - essential
qualities - subtle - inner nature - goal or essence. That repeated with
all five elements.Yup. Fortunately I bailed before all that happened. But
I feel for those who fell for it, and foundthemselves -- as you say --
as dependent on the socialaspect of their closed, reclusive TM
communities asa junkie is on his heroin.Definitely true for me. After
being in the movement my formative years, having no education and work
skills beyond college level, its especially hard to get into the
'realworld'. You were unable to work for extended hours andhad basically
no professional education, something requiredin my country to get a
decent job with an appropriate salary. On the plus side, I've had a nice
youth with lots of oceanic experiences, have a profound level of
meditation, look younger than most people of my age.
Some of my fiends, have been on different spiritual trips, and probably
also spend a lot of money on it, nevertheless had good high-paid jobs,
for example as programmers, which was obviously encouraged by some
masters. They may have been exploited in others ways, butgot decent
careers.Fairfield Life is a weird place. I suspect you'llfigure out soon
that True Believers who are still doing their best to hang on do not
react gracefullyto critical things said about Maharishi and the TM
movement. But hang in there, and keep sharing your "take" on things;
it's good to have a new such "take" from time to time, especially from
someonewho has Been There, Done That. One of the thingsyou'll figure out
over time is that many of themost strident "These 'anti-TMers' are
attackingus" hangers-on here on FFL never have. They neverbecame
teachers, they never went on the coursesthey defend, and some of them
were never even inthe same room as Maharishi. Their entire relation-ship
to him and his teaching was -- and still is --in their heads, a fantasy.
And they don't liketheir fantasies messed with.
Thanks. I have been lurking here for quite a while, so I think think I
know most of the protagonists.
