It's an oblique spiritual reference to Dylan's retelling of the Abraham/Issac story from the Bible in his song "Highway 61 Revisited" -- God said to Abraham "Kill me a son." Abe said "Man, you must be pudding me on." God said "No," Abe said "What?" God say "You can do what you want Abe but the next time you see me comin you better run." Abe said "Where d'you want this killin done?" God said "Out on highway 61." The pudding in the second verse is a reference to the Jewish tradition of offering someone a pudding when one is trying to convince them to perform an onerous task. In the case of Maharishi's quote, it would seem that he was searching for followers who would do whatever he said *without* being offered a pudding. And I know this is all true because I read it on the Internet... To subscribe, send a message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Or go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/ and click 'Join This Group!'
