I am just guessing, but I would think that Sal lives near a Golden Dome because it happens to be in the town of Fairfield, where she now has roots, friends, and children. She would probably still stay in Fairfield even if they removed the Golden Dome. Like many Fairfield residents, I doubt she has any interest in going into the Golden Dome any more, if she ever did.
