This is what we get when the best and brightest don't run for public office nor take military careers. Some go into business but many bright people are perfectly happy to earn a modest income and enjoy life. So we get crooks and idiots running government and the military. That's a scenario likely to lead to the extinction of humanity unless we call a time out to fix things. But that means the establishment has to give up control and they won't allow that.
