Even the above is misleading.

We don't transcend to do (or not do) anything. We transcend (or not) because 
conditions in our body are such that we transcend (or not).

We don't practice TM in order to transcend, but so that we can be more 
efficient in our activity outside of TM. Full efficiency (or at least, 
sufficient efficiency) is called "enlightenment."  Skill in action.
