One should ask what is the drive to get everyone to be a vegan? Even Dr.
Gary Null, who should know better, is caught up in it. I know people
who refer to vegetables as "rabbit food" and found they actually do
better with meat and potatoes than a salad. There is science behind
this and research is uncovering more. UCSF researchers found that when
the US went on a low-fat kick food companies created low-fat
alternatives by adding carbs. Take a look at that "reduced fat" cream
cheese you get. What they did was add corn starch, a carbohydrate, to
thicken it otherwise it would be watery.

What we wind up with is a bunch of fad diets that don't work for
everyone except those making money off it.

Proper use of biochemical individuality be it from ayurveda, chinese
medicine (yin and yang) or metabolic typing (a modern form) can be very
useful for keeping a person in good health and able to perform as they
want. Here's an article by Virginia Worthington that has appeared
various places on the Internet but gives a good overview about slow and
fast oxidation rates and the research of Dr. George Watson.
