I never use Internet Explorer, so I don't know whether
its latest incarnations accept add-ons/extensions, but
a neat, free program called Adblock Plus will do it
for Firefox and Chrome.

In Firefox, go to Firefox > Add-Ons, and in Chrome, go
to Customize and Control Google Chrome > Settings >
Extensions. Once there, search for Adblock Plus or
scroll through the most popular programs, and you'll
see it. Firefox has a video demo showing you how to
load Add-Ons if you need it under Firefox > Add-Ons >
Get Add-Ons, but most people don't.

Adblock Plus works on most Web programs including
YouTube. It's a whole new world when you're not
subjected to ads.
