Uh, guys, it was a publicity stunt. They knew beforehand how much they were 
going to give him. The gold was for his further scientific work; he didn't get 
to keep it for his personal use. (And this was in 1998, pre-King Tony, 
pre-rajas; he was wearing a suit, not robes. Looked really silly sitting 
cross-legged in one pan of this giant scale, and he knew it.)

 What a scurrilous accusation!!! You know good and well he just strapped on 
some ankle weights, borrowed a scuba divers weight belt to wear underneath his 
robes, might have had a vest with weights stuffed in the pockets under the 
raja's outfit too. >>
