Apparently the "paleo diet" is pseudo-science. They actually didn't eat
that way during the paleo age.

Actually, I can more than afford to be on a similar diet but have

mother gives you", although that has been severely modified since
undergoing gastric by pass. I probably follow closer to a paleo type
diet of lean meats, fruits, nuts and vegetables, keeping sugar, grains

it. Just don't feed me any dog treats from China! Growing up a fat
kid, I never expected to live past 40 and here I am 63 and in pretty
good health. Every day is just icing on the cake for me as far as I'm
concerned. I'll just keep doing my tapas and being a burden on SS,
Medicare and my pension plan for as long as I can.

growing in the US
The last time I checked this forum, I was the only informant that
claimed to be on an organic natural foods diet and shopped at Whole
Foods Market. Apparently I'm the only guy on FFL that can afford to
shop at whole Foods and that's because I am not a big eater. Correct
if I'm wrong about this.
So, it's really funny reading about opposition to a "GMO" apple that
doesn't turn brown. I would think that there would be more opposition
to the insecticides and antibiotics contained on and in non-organic
foods such as beef and chicken.
So, maybe somebody could fill me in on the sources of the food they
eat. Thanks.
I know a guy that drives all the way across town just so he can buy a
bag of unsulphured raisins. I live two blocks from Whole Foods and
even that is a long walk. You can imagine how much destruction to the
environment there is if thousands of cars are driven to the farmer's
market every day just to check the labels on apples. It just doesn't
make any sense. Go figure.

Last year, we had a GMO labeling requirement on the ballot. It was
Oregon's most expensive election issue EVER. That tells me
something. The labeling requirement lost, but they were outspent 3 to
1 by the Frankenfood Companies. Even if GMO food can be shown to be
safe, I firmly believe we have an inherent right to know what we are
being sold and putting in our bodies.
Like, Bhairitu is pointing out a bunch of stores and products now
label their products as non GMO anyway. New Seasons and Whole Foods
are behind this effort. This is where our dollars go.
