Hmmmm, I heard about this last night. Thought what's up with this guy. After
seeing your post, I was checking out Facebook and saw a piece by Ben Schapiro.
This is basically another hit piece on Carson by Politico. He says that Carson
was never offered a scholarship to West Point because West Point doesn't offer
scholarships. What happened was Carson had dinner with General Westmoreland at
an event. Westmoreland asked Ben if he would like to attend West Point,that he
could arrange for his education there. However that would mean Carson would
have to serve in the military for so many years following. Carson wasn't
interested in serving in the military and wanted to pursue medicine. So no, he
never *applied*, which Politico says he did and it wasn't a scholarship that
was offered, which Ben took the offer as. But yes, he was offered an education
at West point.
