The doofus heard that the IT folks used BleachBit, a free software program, to delete the emails; and he figured it was the same thing they do to blue jeans to make them appear worn: wash them with bleach. The marketing term is "acid-washing." So to get rid of pesky emails, he thinks, you douse the hard drive with acid. Very expensive!
