I disagree. Both are gratuitous. My view: yours above is a often repeated logical or perhaps social error. In my book, if someone is rude to me, it does not make my being rude ok. You appear to live by a different ethos. Personally, I don't care for that ethos. Regardless, it does not mater whose ethos is "better" or more correct. If you call someone a "fuckhead" on FFL, no matter what the provocation, you are grossly violating the guidelines. Of someone posts "who is the bigger fuckhead" as the title to a post, they are in gross violations of the guidelines. IMO, they should be banned for a week on the first offense, and two weeks on the second, etc. If you have not read the guidelines, perhaps its time you kept up. If you have, and wish to blatently ignore them, IMO, you should be banned for a week on the first offense, and two weeks on the second, etc.
